Matrix was established in 1998 by Jack Pearce who has over 25 years PR and journalism experience in the Middle East. He is Vice Chairman of the Middle East PR Association and regularly speaks at forums and is quoted in the media on public affairs issues.

Prior to setting up Matrix PR he was Senior Director of Client Servicing for IPR, the Middle East affiliate of Shandwick, the world's largest PR firm.

Before this he was Public Affairs Manager of HSBC (BBME) with overall responsibility for all the marketing, advertising and public relations activities of the Bank's operations in the region.

From 1989 to 1994 he was country manager of the international PR firm Hill and Knowlton. During this time he handled the corporate PR for multinationals such as BA, Pepsi and Shell, and local companies such as Jebel Ali Free Zone and Dubai Ports Authority.

Before this he was later editor of the UAE's What's On, at that time the leading glossy lifestyle magazine in the region.

He began his career in the UAE as PR Manager of the Abu Dhabi Inter-Continental Hotel where, in addition to routine hotel PR work, he coordinated two GCC summit conferences and numerous state occasions and head of state visits.

Jack is a firm believer in innovation and technology. He was probably the first PR practitioner in the Middle East to issue a press release by fax rather than telex or hard copy, to broadcast fax releases from a PC rather than a fax machine, to issue a release via e-mail with jpeg picture attached and to begin regularly issuing video news releases (VNRs).
